The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has charged government officials in President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration to remove their children from universities based abroad aand enroll them in Nigeria.

ASUU President, Prof. Emmanuel Osodeke, made the disclosure in Abuja after they met with the federal government represented by the Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige.

ASUU also urged the National Assembly to enact laws requiring public officials to send their children to public schools in the country, claiming that doing so would alert officials to the deterioration of public colleges.

Osodeke said, “We hope that the government will make it mandatory that if you accept a government appointment, your children must attend universities in the country.

“The National Assembly must formulate a law that if you take an appointment, your children must study here. If you know that your children cannot be here, don’t take government appointments.

“When you hear those in the government who send their children to schools abroad say that ASUU goes on strike, they should know that strike is not the problem. The problem is the issues afflicting the universities; nobody is interested in tackling them.

“Look at the budget we have seen recently, it is exactly the same thing we have been seeing. Nothing has changed. And this country is paying the high price for neglecting education – the banditry you see, the kidnapping and what have you, is because people are not being taken care of.

“That is why ASUU has been struggling, so that Nigerian universities will be revamped, so that as our children go outside for learning, other children from other countries will come here too and pay to this country in hard currency.”

Pastor Tunde Bakare, the founder of Citadel Global Community Church (previously Latter Rain Assembly), has intimated that he may run for president in 2023.

Bakare made the remarks following a private meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Friday, October 15.

Bakare was Buhari’s running mate on the Congress for Progressive Change platform in 2011. After the meeting, he told State House Correspondents that he came to “dispense what was in my heart” to the President.

When asked if he would run for president in 2023, he answered he would if ‘God’ and ‘Nigerians’ wanted him to.

Bakare said; “Every Nigerian, who is of age and who is not disqualified by any means, is free. I’m a nation builder, if God wants me to do that, and the people of Nigeria will appreciate that, why not? I’m as free as anybody to do anything with my time. I’ve pastored a church for 33 years, now we raise new leaders. I want to focus on nation-building.

“The Office of the President is only one office, there are so many other things we can do as people to support whoever is there to make sure that we do not go into retrogression, but begin to make steady progress as a people. I’ve already communicated clearly, my future plans to Mr. President, and it stays between us.”

On power rotation, Bakare stated, “I had said it on October 3. It’s our immaturity, politically and otherwise, that makes us say power must either be in the North or be in the South, instead of looking for the best, the fittest, the most competent, and people of character, who love this nation.

“Listen to me, if where the president comes from will make the place he has come from to be better, the northern part of Nigeria should be the richest and should be the most progressive and the most developed because out of 61 years, the north has produced either the president or heads of state for 40 to 41 years, and yet see the retrogression in the North.

“If it’s from the South, why should a person like President Obasanjo freeze and seize the account of Lagos State in his own tenure? If it’s from South-South or South-East why couldn’t President Jonathan use all his powers to develop South-South/South-East?

“Not where they come from, it’s what they carry and what they have to offer. May the best of the best of Nigerians rise, whether they’re from the east, from the west, from the north, and from the south.

“If there are agreements between politicians among themselves on rotation, a bargain is a bargain. That’s between them. But as far as this country is concerned, what we need at this stage is a man who can drive us to the Eldorado.”

Arinze, a Nigerian man who appears to be a pastor in training, was apprehended after he purportedly defiled a young girl and tried to use blood from her vaginal canal for spiritual purposes in order to help his church grow tremendously.

The suspect said in a video that had already gained traction that he was instructed by one Mr. Matthew to obtain the blood of a child, and that the blood would be used to assist him in performing spiritual acts to help his church grow quicker than projected.

Arinze, who was tied up in the video, stated that he met his victim, a young girl, who he fingered, and then gave her blood to Mr. Matthew, who refused it and stated that the victim is really powerful.

”I am tied because I want to have my own ministry. One Mr Matthew asked me to go and bring the blood of a child from any part of her body.”

The vivid narration was given by the landlord who seemed to have captured the moment that transpired.

”This man his name is Arinze. This Arinze came to my tenants place about three weeks ago. The first time he came, he said he was looking for a house so my tenant was trying to help him. They couldn’t get a house or shop because they said it was too expensive for them

He went to my tenant’s place. My tenant gave him food, he ate the food. Maybe he used spiritual means or something, my tenant fell asleep. She slept off. By the time she woke up, she saw one of her girls, blood was dripping from her vagina. By the time she looked around, this man had fled.

Today, this man came. She now asked someone to hold the guy. He started making confessions that not that he slept with the girl, he only used his finger on the girl. Whether it is true or not we don’t know. The only thing we know is that the girl was defiled and he said he collected blood from the girl’s vagina. He took it to where they wanted to use it some that his church will boom.”

A 14-year-old girl from Kano State, Atika Aminu Yankaba, took over the Kano State Government in a symbolic takeover staged by High-Level Women Advocacy and UNICEF to commemorate this year’s International Girl Child Day on 11th October 2021.

Yankaba was handed the helm of affairs at 12: 00 pm and she handed it back to Ganduje at 12:20 pm.

Yankaba hosted a State Executive Council meeting with her new cabinet members after completely taking over control from Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, tacking the problems of girl child education as the main agenda.

While presiding over the council meeting, Governor Atika Aminu Yankaba stated that the state requires more cash to create more classrooms, hire more instructors, and prioritize ICT education.

In a news conference that lasted about 20 minutes, she maintained that her government will provide sanitary pads and other necessities for girls to receive a good education.

Before handing over the power, Governor Ganduje gave a few remarks and said: “I’m coming back as soon as possible”.

After he returned, Gnaduje commended the girl for making sure things run smoothly in his absence as she conducted the executive council meeting with no hitches.

he said: “during my absence, I witnessed how you ran the government and it was excellent, the executive council meeting was done marvelously, with all the commissioners contributing wonderfully.”

Attahiru Jega, the former chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), believes the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have misled Nigeria for the past 21 years.

Jega claimed the two main parties are becoming incapable of taking the country into the promised land during a lecture organized by Kwara Visioners Network for Rural Development in Kwara State.

“The current two dominant parties – APC and the PDP – with their quality recruitment and leadership selection processes who have shared power and have tended to lead Nigeria astray in the past 21 years are becoming incapable of directing Nigerian political and governance processes in the right direction,” he said on Saturday.

“The dominant elites in these parties are self-centered, preventing the few good ones among them to be impactful. They are also fractious and quarrelsome and lacking even enlightened self-interest.”

The political science professor also denied rumors that he might run for president in 2023.

Meanwhile, in other news, Professor Attahiru Jega, the former Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has proposed for the electronic distribution of election results in the general elections of 2023.

At a national political summit in Abuja, Jega stated that one of the primary areas where reckless, disloyal, and self-serving politicians have compromised the integrity of the Nigerian electoral process has been the transmission of election results.

Concerned about citizens’ lack of trust in the electoral process and the poor performance of those elected through it, the former INEC Chairman stated that restoring remarkable integrity to the Nigerian electoral process would almost certainly necessitate the abandonment of the obtuse manual transmission of results.

He said;

“Transmission of election results has been one of the key areas in which reckless, unpatriotic, and self-serving politicians have undermined the integrity of the Nigerian electoral process.

“Bringing remarkable integrity to the Nigerian electoral process, therefore, would no doubt require the jettisoning of the traditional obtuse manual transmission of results, and its replacement with using appropriate technology with electronic transmission of results.”

Dr. Kweku Mensah Mawutor, a lecturer at the University of Professional Studies has unapologetically told the Vice President of Ghana, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to save money for ‘pure water’ business because he will never win the NPP flagbearership.

Dr Kweku Mensah Mawutor claims Nana Akufo Addo himself has realized that there’s no way the New Patriotic Party (NPP) would allow Bawumia to lead the party in as far as the 2014 elections are concerned.

“Nana, these are the only two persons who wish to compete,” he could have replied, “but my Vice-President has also expressed interest.” But he didn’t, which should indicate that President Akufo Addo has understood that Bawumia is incapable of succeeding him.

“Looking ahead to the election, I pity Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. I don’t think he’ll become the NPP’s flag bearer. He should save some of his money and utilize it for other purposes after the 2024 elections, when they will no longer be in power. He could even start a pure water industry, which would be extremely beneficial to him and his family.”

He went on to say that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia may even choose to bring “koobi” from neighbouring countries to sell instead of wasting his money battling for the NPP flagbearership.

Well-known Nigerian actor and movie producer Jim Iyke has said that he will never forgive the late Prophet T.B Joshua for what he did to him some time back.

The actor Jim Iyke has accused the late man of God and general overseer of the Synagogue Church of All Nations, Late T.B Joshua for what he did when he took his mother to his church for deliverance.

It would be recalled that a video of Jim Iyke’s purported deliverance at the Synagogue Church went viral on social media. The spirit speaking through the actor was heard saying while being delivered that it was responsible for the inability of the actor to get married.

“And I said common men, this is childish, this is not what we came here for. Let’s move mom out of here and keep looking for medical help. Then we were about to go to South Africa, there was this young man that was recommended to us, a specialist as well.

“Then the gentleman in question looked at me and saw the amusement on my face and touched me. Now I can’t explain what happened within that space of time. Within that 5 minutes, whatever happened happened.

“I’m not here to start proffering explanations to spiritual things that are way beyond me. I’m a man that understands how things work. That I cannot explain and nobody can suggest anything otherwise because personally, I know what happened to me.”

“Within that time lacks explanations, they said I said stuff, did stuff which I found to be extremely embarrasing.”

He spoke on Channels TV, “At that point, even I’m told there’ll be a cure in hell I’ll go. You are talking about your mother. So we went.

“I can remember I went there with my security man, my sister, and PA. And when we got there, I was upstairs but there was the constant insistence that I come to church. And I said, ‘but that wasn’t the arrangement because I kept my mum in the hospital and was expecting that you’ll lay your hand on her and she’ll get better, but they said ‘no you must come to church.’

“Then my sister forced me and we went to church downstairs. I was there when the whole stuff of touching people started, I found it a little laughable seriously because this is national TV and people watch from all corners. I can remember my sister pinched me and said, ‘you’ve got to stop.’

Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State has advised the people clamoring for secession in the Southeast to reconsider their decision since it would cause the zone to lose a massive amount of investments.

Umahi averred that the Southeast had invested so much in every part of Nigeria and so if they suddenly withdraw from Nigeria, they would be the biggest losers.

Umahi made his submission as he spoke on  Channels Television. He advised the agitators to exercise some restraint in fighting for their freedom.

Umahi said: “Meanwhile, every elite in South-East is not desirous of Biafra, we don’t want Biafra; we want to be treated equally like other regions in Nigeria.

“So, this idea of Biafra is madness and we have said, ‘No’, we don’t want Biafra.

“If we go our separate ways, South-East people will lose a lot because we’ve invested a lot in every part of this nation. It is not to our advantage to leave our investment and walk away.”

Meanwhile, Pastor Paul Enenche of Dunamis Gospel Church International, DGCI, has refuted claims that his church was attacked by some armed robbers.

Recall that it was reported in the news that some armed men invaded a branch of the church in Bwari Area Council and attacked worshippers.

According to the clergyman, the people peddling the news that his church was attacked should be very cautious of their utterances about the church or risk hellfire. He called the reports as lies and advised his people to not give ear to such negative reports.

He said, “There was demonic news that someone drew my attention to saying that a devil’s church, not this church was invaded and worshippers were attacked by armed men.

“We live in a world that is striving on lies especially on social media. I don’t know if 80 to 90 percent of the news there is true. We also live in a world where people anticipate evil for others. From a rooted heart of bitterness, all manner of anything, the wickedness of heart, continuously expecting evil new.

“And then they push what is unreal, untrue, we are worshipping here right now. Nothing happened.

“For everybody who tells a story that is not true, whether you are telling it online or in hardcopy paper, channel or whatever, I refer you to Revelation 21:8 “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death”.

“When you tell a story that is not true it is hellfire you are playing with. When you push stories that you are not sure of or rumors that are not correct, it is hellfire you are playing with.

“There is no truth in what they said. In a particular location, a petty thieve tried to enter the church to steal something in the night but was resisted, an alarm was raised and he ran off the fence.

“Then one demonic agent pick a hint of such unsuccessful misadventure of petty criminals and said armed men attack worshippers. That devil is a bastard. Nothing like that has happened and it will never happen in Jesus’ name”.
