Veteran Ghanaian rapper Andrew Kwadwo Agyen known in the showbiz as Joe Frazier has berated the style used by modern artists in the country.
According to the veteran rapper, most of the songs the modern artists do are ‘wack’; a way to describe the songs of people as trash.
Joe Fraizer was part of the old artists who built the foundations of the music industry especially the rap genre with their songs. He has been in the music industry for over two decades but is currently not active as he was in the 90s.
In an interview with Amansan Krakye on a Cape Coast-based Kastle FM, he told the host that not all the artists in the scene now can be described as “exceptional” because their songs are nothing to write home about.
“Which artist is that, can mean either which artist made this terrible song or which artist made this great piece of music”, he explained when asked if all artists have wack songs as he described them.
“Not every musician in the business right now is great, so there are some songs that make you wonder who wrote them”, he added.
Some of the new artists in Ghana are very good but some of them aren’t making good music at all and that’s true everywhere”, he added.
