In a sad report, veteran Nigerian actor, Lari Williams has been confirmed dead.
Per what we gathered, he died at the age of 81 and his death came after a protracted illness. This was confirmed in a recent statement released by his family on February 28.
It was released in the statement that the veteran actor who entertained Nigerians and other movie lovers across the world died in his hometown, Ikom, Cross-River.
His life was an illustrious one as he is noted to be the first actor who performed on top of Zuma Rock in Abuja FCT.
He was also the first president of the Actors’ Guild of Nigeria and he also taught Theatre Arts in three Nigerian universities and these universities are the University of Lagos, Lagos State University, and the University of Calabar.
He was also the first actor to be endorsed by two successive Nigerian presidents. He was named a Member of the Order of the Federal Republic (MFR) from late President Musa Yar Adua in 2008, and a Lifetime Achievement Award, endorsed by President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan in 2013.
