I’ll Win MTV, Grammys, Others Soon – White Money Tells Naysayers (Video)

Big Brother Naija 2021 winner, Hazel Onou aka White Money, has boldly said he’s aiming for prestigious international awards like MTV, Grammys.

The light-skinned reality star made this known in response to those mocking him for pursuing a music career with the release of his new song, Selense. His loyal have advised him to do anything he wants with his life but not music but he offered an interesting response to the narrative.

In his opinion, he’s would soon be one of the torchbearers of music in the country and scoop international awards such as MTV and the ‘almighty’ Grammys so he’s not backing down from the new path he has charted.

Away from that Nigerian singer and actor, Olubankole Wellington, known within the scope of showbiz as Banky W, has revealed in a new radio interview the future he was in Wizkid before he rose to prominence.

Banky revealed that he named Wizkid’s first album ‘Superstar’ because he did not want people to see the Joro crooner as an upcoming artiste.

He said: “I am proud of what Wizkid is doing. I named his first album, ‘Superstar’, because that is what I wanted people to refer to him as, not as an up-and-coming act that he was back then.’’

“That is why it is good to invest in people. We played a small part in their beginning but look at what he (Wizkid) is now doing for others. As an artiste, it is important to find one’s voice.

One can adopt anything from anyone but one should be the best version that one can be. That is what has been working for me.”

Asked why he shut down his record label, EME, he answered: “I think that was the best thing for us. I think we had done the label part and the majority of those who were under the label found their feet in the industry when they were with us.

As far back as 2016, I knew I didn’t have the energy for managing an active label. A year after I shut down the record label, I focused more on working with corporate clients.’’
