23-year-old girl Recount How A Soldier Deployed To Bauchi Impregnated Her And Vanished

Comfort Peter, a young Nigerian lady has recounted how a Nigerian soldier who came to Bauchi state for his duties impregnated her in 2017 and never saw him again.

The 23-year-old woman in her narration identified the aforementioned soldier as Sergeant Julius Simon. She explained that the Sergeant affiliated with the Biu Regiment of the Army defiled her at the age of 19 after he arrived Bauchi State for a special operation in 2017.

She, therefore, called on the Nigeria Army to help her find her distanced lover.

She also said that the woman with whom she was working did not approve of the relationship.
Comfort, who said that Simon was 30 at the time, recalled her father forcing her to choose between marriage and education.

She said;

“She told me that if Julius actually loves me then he should come to our house. When I told him (Simon), he agreed and started coming to our house.

“My father said he desired that I go for further studies because I just finished secondary school but Julius promised to marry me.”

Julius allegedly told her father that he wanted to marry her, and Comfort claims that he defiled her immediately after inviting her to his house, stating that they had fulfilled their mission in Bauchi and were planned to return to Biu.

She said;

“I went to his house and he prevented me from going back to my father’s house that day. I told him that if he did not want me to return to my father’s house, then he would marry me and I would stay with him. He agreed. He seized my phone and he forced me to have sex with him that day.”

She also stated that she was a virgin before approaching journalists at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Press Centre in Bauchi on Thursday, November 4.

Comfort added;

“I told him that was not our agreement. He promised to get back to me and take me to live with him. When I came home my father almost killed me for sleeping outside.

“Few days later, I started vomiting. My father noticed and asked my mother. My mother said it was just malaria.”

She said she hurried out of the house when she found out she was pregnant and went to her aunt’s house in Tafawa Balewa because her father had warned his female offspring that if they became pregnant in his house, they would be abandoned.

She claimed that she traveled to Biu twice to see Sergeant Simon, but each time he became irritated and threatened not to marry her again.

Comfort further revealed that she has not seen the soldier since giving birth to a newborn boy in June 2019 and that his phone number has been deactivated.

She said;

“I communicated with one of his friends who told me they have been posted to Maiduguri . The friend told me that Julius said he would not marry me again,” adding that she regretted going out with Simon.

“How can you treat someone that you said you love like this?”she asked rhetorically, adding that her soldier lover had cheated her.

Asked what she wants, the mother of one simply retorted that all she wants is justice, adding that the soldier should take responsibility for his child.

“I want justice. Let him come and be a father to his son because the boy is two years old now and has started asking for his father.

“Julius was the one that deflowered me. He promised to marry me but deceived me. I will never love or trust any man again but he must take care of his son.”

Comfort, who was accompanied by her father, appealed with Army officials to assist her in locating her son’s father and forcing him to take care for the child.

She said;

“As for me, l no longer love him. I have forgiven him but won’t marry him again.”
