An ex-bank manager has been duly sentenced after he was found guilty of stealing.

The ex0bank manager was working with Sterling Bank and he was also the Account Relationship Officer of OHHA Microfinance Bank.

His name is Mr. Oliver Anidiobi and as we speak, he will be spending the next 18 years in prison for forgery and stealing to the whopping sum of N219 million.

His sentence came on November 2 and it was given by Justice C. O. Ajah of the Enugu State High Court in Enugu.

The Enugu Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), in their statement indicated that the defendant used his position to convince the Microfinance Bank to deposit the said amount through him.

Upon getting the money, he placed the money in a fixed deposit account and forged a deposit certificate to succeed in deceiving the microfinance bank.

In doing this, he also diverted the money for personal use and it was revealed that he built a block of 5 flats, acquired several plots of land along the Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway, has an uncompleted four-bedroom bungalow at Centenary Estate, Enugu.

As if that was not enough, he also made an investment of N65 million in a Ponzi Scheme called “Let’s Partner with You”.
