Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, has posited that there are brighter days ahead of Nigeria as the country is on the journey for a new beginning.
Osinbajo maintained that God has better things in place for his children and very soon the tide would change course.
The Vice President addressed the crowd at the ongoing 25th Annual Convention of the Redeemed Christian Church of God – The Americas, themed: “New Beginning.” where he made the revelation.
He said: “Today, many men are saying the same about our nation Nigeria, even men of God, but this is the textbook case of how God works, He is set to give Nigeria a new beginning.
“In the midst of current travails, the God of new beginnings is about to change our story. He is about to do something new. Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.”
“God did not create us to be independent of Him, He did not endow us with the strength to succeed without Him. The God of new beginnings did not create us to be self-sufficient. We need Him,”
Meanwhile, Professor Yemi Osinbajo recently opened up on his surprise switch from pastoral work to join politics.
According to the Vice President, he had to join politics to serve his basic purpose of serving people and honouring God. He cited the Biblical example of Christians being salt of the world to influence it positively.
Osinbajo said, “The scriptures say that we are the salt of the earth. Every time people ask me, they say, oh, why are you in government? And I say, why not?
“The calling of God upon our lives is that we must be in service. What is the point of light if it is kept under a bushel? What’s the point of salt if it does not go into the soup? If it is afraid of soup, what kind of salt is that?”
